Description

18 Years Old is a highly distinguished single-malt Scotch whiskey. After a period of fifteen years of maturation in American white oak casks, roughly 30% of the liquid is subsequently moved into Spanish Oloroso casks for an additional three-year maturation period. After both parts have been aged for 18 years, they are mixed again to make a whisky with a rich aroma and a full, well-balanced flavor. This particular whiskey, given its age, has managed to retain a remarkable level of liveliness due to the delicate floral character of the spirit and the use of high-quality Oloroso barrels. The nutty qualities that the American oak imparts have balanced the raisin-like sweetness that is typically associated with sherry influence, creating a harmonious flavor profile.
