Hanyu 1990 Queen of Hearts

This whisky was distilled in the Hanyu distillery in 1990, one year before it closed down for good. The Queen of Hearts is one of many Japanese malts that were too short-lived to completely express their personality. These beauties, however, are brimming with flavor and depth! There’s something remarkable about drinking a whisky bottled less than two miles away from where it was manufactured–and then disappearing without a trace within 12 years! It’s prepared from all local components, including Hokkaido malt barley picked on Hanyu farmland. This year’s Whisky Live had a lot to offer everyone who came–more than 400 whiskies from 17 nations represented by more than 60 exhibitors.
