Ichiro Akuto, the founder of Japan’s Chichibu distillery, is a master whisky blender as well as one of the country’s most regarded distillers. His Wine Wood Reserve is a blended malt made from of Japanese whiskies from Chichibu aged in red wine casks and Scottish whisky. The end product is a rich, jammy dram with a lot of depth.
