To honor Hogmany, Scotland’s new year, The Macallan has issued a limited-edition seasonal release. It was designed in collaboration with Japanese-French painter Erica Dorn and has artwork that resembles the flames seen at many New Year’s festivities throughout the world. Rich dried fruit from American and European oak sherry casks, but with a shortbread accent from ex-bourbon casks, the whisky is all about the Macallan’s unmistakable festive aromas. Overall, this is an excellent Hogmanay dram.
